I am so glad I got this book. As an avid gardener I am always searching for ways to preserve and save food for the off growing season. This book has so much good information in it. It covers Food Drying Methods (including solar), freeze drying, drying times & temps, directions by vegetable or fruit types, drying herbs & spices, making fruit leathers, drying meat & fish, etc. This is by far the best food preservation book on my Kindle.It is packed with useful information, well written and easy to navigate. This book has everything you need to know to safely and effectively dry food. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn to dry food or become advanced in drying their own food. I think this is a must have for every gardener! :) I'm actually gonna buy the paperback version too.
This book was a very big disappointment. Written in very simplistic terms with very little helpful info. I had researched a few blogs before buying my food dehydrator and then ordered this book. If you buy a new dehydrator, your booklet will offer more details and hints than this book does. If you get one used spend 20 minutes online and your knowledge will exceed what is written in this book. Also a famous video site has lots of do it yourself insights if you need more.Seriously, I am surprised the publisher printed this "booklet" because even a teenager could put together a better "book report".Simply stated this book lacks any useful insights or details that can easily accessed via your local library, a friend or a search online.
This is a fantastic book on drying foods, a truly great resource. It's very well-written and easy to read and understand. There are recipes as well as how to build drying equipment along with charts on drying times for any vegetable or fruit you can dry. I highly recommend this resource.
This book has become my go to for dehydration. It starts with a great explanation of how to dehydrate and what it is all about. It breaks down vegetables and fruit in different chapters explaining how to dehydrate with different methods,Times,etc. I have looked for books and finally , this one was for me! Love it.
I am quite satisfied with this free e-book and can recommend it to all.No one source has the final and.complete say on any one topic so I make it a point to look at multiple sources to gleen what I can from.each and recommend others do the same.All in all, I enjoyed this this book and learned new things from it.Thank you.
If you grew any of your own food this is a must book. Or if your Gardner friends supply you with their surplus. Drying is the oldest and one of the safest way to store your bounty.
