So glad I only paid $20 for the 8th edition instead of the $300 9th edition that I was supposed to buy for class. It's basically the same, right down to the problem numbers. Halfway done with my class, haven't noticed any problems or major differences! Good book to keep on hand if you're working in the field also.
I got this textbook as it was recommended for a course I took. Pros, content is well organized and important points are highlighted in boxes making it easy to remember or revise before a test. Questions worked well with Connect software. Cons, the content and color is monochromatic and dull. Auditing is a tough read unless you are into it. There's a lot of nitty gritty details to remember and sometimes it feels like the same text is being repeated and reworded in different ways. Not my cup of tea amongst Accounting subjects. Hopefully, you the reader, will enjoy it more than I!
If your looking into this book then you're probably in an auditing class and how no choice but to buy it for class but even with that being said, this is a very nicely put together and well-written book and it should be very helpful in your class. Good luck with your semester, I hope you like auditing.
The price for this text was good and it is in pretty good shape. It is well written and I will keep it for reference.
I am currently using this for an auditing course. It is a pretty good book for learning auditing basics. It is fairly simple to read and makes a point to reiterate key points.
The text seems to be fine. I haven't taken any other audit course so I have no comparison. Some of the examples are super small font. Bring out the magnifying glass.
Way cheaper than the new edition. Mostly the same material, different pages
I normally don't review textbooks because I only got them for school and not to read for pleasure. But this textbook is pretty cool. It is very educational without being boring. And the best part is that it comes with a disc that contains software to give auditing experience.
