This is an excellent interpretation of a Proverbs 31 wife. However, the book is so heavy and difficult to decipher. Each page is absolutely so thin. My eyes will not work with pages so thin that I can see the word on the next page.It did have interested letters to preface. Even my daughter liked them. In the end, this is just too heavy of a book to study. Also, the pages need to be thicker- especially for a hard bound book.

I love everything about my new Study Bible! The structure, colored maps, articles, portraits, and essays are enjoyable, insightful, easy to read, and easy to follow. If you're looking for a study bible that will help you delve into the word and spend more time with Him, this is definitely the bible for you.

I love the NKJV, Woman's Study Bible, articles, print size and beautiful pages with flowers. The color is so good for my vision problem. The only thing that was wrong with my bible is that the binding in the back where the maps, an so forth are, is coming a loose. At the top, somewho the pages at top tore and binding is not glued secure. I purchased the bible less than two weeks ago. Other than the binding problem, this bible is fantastic and would be a great gift for any women who read the bible.

I bought this Bible for myself and I am ordering another one for my sister-in-law. I love it, simple, nice and easy to read and understand. I was skeptical about it at first because the images did not quite do it justice and I am happy I went along with my feeling to purchase it because I am very excited to give it to my sister-in-law as a gift and I can’t wait to see her reaction! Beautiful bible that is filled with many inspiring devotions. The cover is very durable and very attractive. I am very pleased with the quality of this bible and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys devotional bibles for women. A must-buy for those who enjoy the Word of God and desire devotions designed just for women and their needs.

I have this Bible in hard cover and Kindle. I purposely bought the Kindle because the print in the Bible is so tiny I couldn't read it even with my glasses on. I bought the Kindle edition thinking I would be able to enlarge the print but I find you cannot with this Bible. I was very disappointed because everyone I know who has this Bible says what a remarkable Bible it is. Maybe after I get my cataracts removed and astigmatisms corrected and get new glasses I'll be able to read it. I only gave it 2 stars because you can't enlarge the print size not because of the Bible itself. The Bible would get 5 stars.

If I could give this bible 10 Stars I would.....This bible is amazing it makes my study time with God so interactive not only does it help by breaking down scripture it has lots of little fun facts as well as wonderful and educational articles on things like marriage and motherhood as well as being a grandmother. The beautiful word portraits are amazing they paint the woman in a way that is very relatable and opens your eyes to their life, times and characters. The quotes also help, one day when I was flipping through the bible one of them got my attention so I started to read and it was a word that my spirit spoke to me a few hours earlier. This bible is amazing....!!!! God defiantly had a purpose for placing this bible in the hearts of the women who created it.

I have not been able to put this Bible down since it arrived a few hours ago. It is beautiful and full of special spots like "Beatitudes for Women" and "Flowers and Herbs of the Bible." A perfect Study Bible.

Usually when I buy a book, I feel I get my money's worth as long as I can get something out of it. It is very rare when the entire book becomes an invaluable resource. This is such a book. This book contains excellent maps and directions and includes numerous B&W pictures and illustrations. There is also a color panel in the middle. When I say detailed directions I mean DETAILED. The author tells you what landmarks to look for, what exit to get off, how the road winds and breaks the distances down to a tenth of a mile. It is also written in a very easy to follow and understand text. The highlight of the book for me is the detailed breakdown of Nine Mile Canyon. I was not intending on doing nine mile canyon due to a shortage of time and thinking I would need a guide to find many of the sites. The book describes the trip in such detail you feel like you are on a tour. Besides Utah, the author also writes about some sites in Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. Before I purchased this book, I thought I would only get to see a few rock art panels at the more popoular destinations. After reading this book, I now know that there are many more sites I can visit. Hopefully, those who are intersted in this book will also heed the authors plea to be respectful of the sites. His book speaks about way to many instances of idiots vandalizing these treasures and destroying them for the future generations. Bottom line is that this is a must have for anyone serious about seeing rock art in Utah.

I'm not easily satisified with guides, but this one appears to be an exception. It fits the need of those of us who enjoy and appreciate indigenous art and the wilderness that typically accompanies it. There are numerous maps, excellent directions, a section of color pictures, and good insights.

This is the best and most responsible guide to the rock art of Utah I have seen. It is well written and researched, the maps are excellent and so are the directions. It's a winner.

What is it then? A very well researched second and third hand account of the dastardly life of Norwegian immigrant Brynhild "Belle" Gunness.The book pulls together accounts (sometimes very dry) of court documents and personal remembrances that paint a picture of what "might have happened".What is the best part of the book? I loved the parts of the book that were photographs of Belle herself, dead husbands. missing farm help, newspaper clippings and little animated vignettes (it was really the glue that kept my attention). It's called"Kindle in Motion" and it was a cool feature.Is there "mystery" like the book promised? Yes there is! I'm not going to drop any spoilers here but the story does not wrap up neat and tidy so you will be left with a gnawing mystery which may upset those who can't put a puzzle down UNTIL they have solved it. Surprisingly, for being such a heinous subject matter there was not much gore or gruesome details that one might expect with a body count in the backyard.Why only 3 stars?? Well it is really very close to 4 but given the over hype of a gripping suspenseful narrative it fell short of the mark. Also a full 34% of this book is footnotes.(I told you the book was well researched). Only 260 pages of the book actually deal with the murders, mutilations and speculations. (which goes to show you that the author did his homework).I was never riveted, merely piqued.

I found this a fascinating read. If want blood and guts throughout a book, this isn't for you. A lot of research has been done so Schechter tells the story of the town before, during and after the discovery of the bodies on Belle's farm. Only about the first 25% of the book deals with with the murders attributed to Belle. I found the newspaper articles fascinating, as well as the reactions from the pulpit. As to be expected for the time and place, there is sexism and racism. There is really no answer as to what happened to Belle, so that may unsatisfying for some readers. I was surprised to find that there was a trial, but I believe that trial result had more to do with the jury's reaction to the lifestyle of the person on trial rather than any factual evidence.It appears to be a well-researched book that is very frank when sources don't agree. The story telling is top notch, and the writing clean and tight.

This book details the crimes of female seral killer Belle Gunness, an interesting twist on the typical male serial killer story. It leads the reader through the purchase of her farm which was the setting for her crimes and continues with Belle luring and killing her victims.I like true crime novels and loved the unique perspective of this particular story. The book also provides some content about the case like photographs, newspaper articles, and original art that I felt added depth and interest.

(SPOILERS)“...real life often presents us with criminal mysteries that stubbornly, even maddeningly, resist solution.” Page 258That quote is like this whole book in a single quote. I love real life murder mysteries, but I want a conclusion and I was hoping there was a definitive answer to this mystery of Belle Gunness but like everyone else, I will be left wondering with my own theories.I both liked and disliked this book. Belle Gunness is a compelling character and her life was crazy. That was interesting to me to learn about. Truth is stranger than fiction. However, 35% of this book was just reference notes. Don't get me wrong - that is awesome because then you get to know that the author had legit sources for the things he details in this book. BUT I didn't realize just how much of the end of this book wasn't actual story line so I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, the twist at the end that proved that she was still alive or something. At 40% I was thinking, no way does it just end like that and then go into a trial buuuuuuut....thats exactly what it was. I am glad I got to see what happened to all the important people surrounding Belle and her deeds, but I am disappointed to not know for absolutely sure that it was her in the house (I honestly do not think it was).On a side note, the art and animation that was in the kindle version to enhance the story was fun. I really enjoyed that. I am bummed that it only worked on the kindle app but not on the amazon cloud reader on the computer though.

I guess I wasn't paying attention when I chose this book as my Kindle First Reads. I thought I was choosing historical fiction....turns out it was not fiction. I was not disappointed.I did not know about the "Lady Bluebeard," and I found this story riveting. I love history, and the author does a good job presenting the events in a way that makes the book seem at times like a story and not a history book.This was also my first Kindle in Motion. I really enjoyed the format with the pictures and animation. I will definitely be reading more books of this type.

About the Author

Jim Jones is an Idaho native, who grew up on his family s farm in Eden. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1964 and received his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago in 1967. Jim served as an artillery officer in the U.S. Army, including a 13-month tour in Vietnam. He served as legislative assistant to former U.S. Senator Len B. Jordan for three years, commencing in 1970. He started a law practice in Jerome in 1973 and maintained it until he was elected as Idaho Attorney General in 1982. Jim served two elected terms as Attorney General. He received the Idaho Water Statesman of 1990 Award from the Idaho Water Users Association. Following the completion of his second term, he established a private law practice in Boise, which he maintained until being elected to the Idaho Supreme Court in 2004. He was re-elected in 2010. Jim served as Chief Justice from August 2015 until his retirement from the Supreme Court in January 2017. He is married to Boise author Kelly Jones. They have three children and eight grandchildren.

I am very glad the author took the time to write and publish A Little Dam Problem. The Swan Falls controversy needed to be documented by someone who witnessed it first hand, and who deeply understands the subject matter. The author certainly fits the bill. His book does an excellent job providing a complete overview of the issue, and at exposing the reader to the key players and personalities involved. It should provide to any reader a thorough understanding of the events leading to, and resulting in, the historic Swan Falls Agreement. There is no better overview of the Swan Falls controversy in my opinion.

This is a "David and Goliath" story. And, at the very least, one that High Schools Teachers in Idaho should make mandatory for students to read. It shows courage, patience, love of country! Taking on the "big boys", taking the high road, is easy to say but it takes tenacity, strength and a real caring about what is right to go the distance! Students need people they can look up to....... Jim Jones is one of those people.

A surprisingly good read. A real world illustration of how our democracy, federal system and separation of powers work. This would be a great book for a high school civics reading list.

My 3rd grade son, Alex, had to do a book report on a nonfiction book. He chose this book because they share the same first name. My son struggles with reading, but his teacher really wanted him to try to read a book that was grade level appropriate, and this book fit that criteria. This book was very difficult for him, and he would not have made it through the book on his own. He read the entire book out loud, to me. We did one chapter per day for 10 days, and we were done. There was a lot of information in the book that was not only new to my son, but to me as well. I have now purchased several other "Who Was" books for my children. My 6th grader is the most interested in these books. She loves to read nonfiction. The reading level is probably too easy for her, but she enjoys them anyway, and she is learning about famous people in history!

Got this for a science book report, but also love that he actually learned so much and was excited to learn so much about Mr. Bell. He still remembers lots of facts about Mr. Bell that I (as a teacher) had never known before.

Got my advance copy today and thought I'd give a review of my initial impressions as far as Chapter 83.Quite amused to see a review from RussellS - who clearly hasn't been anywhere near the book.This very detailed and well referenced book could be a game changer in the climate debate. It's entertainingly and professionally written, as you'd expect from a journalist of Steyn's stature, but it strength is in the amazing amount of well-referenced research that has gone into it. Steyn has devoted a chapter to each scientist who has expressed an opinion on Mann's dubious science - ranging from qualified known sceptics to Nobel prize winners (real ones :-) and even colleagues and co-workers of Mann, who are the most outspoken on his alarming character traits. Cleverly, he has managed to weave this compendium of impressively qualified opinion into a highly entertaining & readable complete narrative of the contentious climate debate - from the first IPCC report though the hockey stick and climategate sagas right up to today. For a non-specialist reader who wants to get a flavour of what the long running global warming is really about in terms of scientific competence, ethics (or lack thereof) and politics this book is unmissable. Probably some extra amusement value will unfold as more of Dr Mann's easily identified groupies turn up here to launch concerted "confusion & destruction" attacks on the book without having taken the trouble to buy it.

Mark Steyn is being sued by Michael Mann for saying bad things about him, and is in turn countersuing Michael Mann for saying bad things about him. The spectacle is profoundly silly, but also carries a certain threat to free speech, impelling the New York Times, the ACLU, and other defenders of free speech to submit amica curiae to the court in support of Steyn. By contrast, Mann has no amica curiae. What happened to all the scientists, scientific associations, popular journals (e.g. National Geographic), newspapers (the Guardian, not to mention the New York Times) that are on record as believing in human-caused global warming?This book provides the answer. More than 100 scientists, most of whom do indeed believe in global warming, are quoted, often at length, in opposing Mann's Hockey Stick, once the very symbol of impending disaster, shown prominently in Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth movie, making the front cover of the IPCC third report (and repeated in about 6 different illustrations throughout the report) and just generally the iconic symbol of global warming. Mann himself proudly includes the creation of the graph in his CV, and equally proudly proclaimed himself to be a Nobel Prize winner (at least until rebuked by the Nobel Prize Foundation.) But the Hockey Stick has fallen on hard times, appears exactly nowhere in subsequent IPCC reports, and even Mann himself has since publlshed papers that appear to include the Little Ice Age, although still refusing to admit the global reality of the Medieval Warming Period, when the Vikings found Greenland to be indeed green for a few hundred years before descending into its present year-round snow and ice.For the full story of the Hockey Stick, the indispensable book is the Hockey Stick Illusion by A.W. Montford. That is a pretty exciting (to us climate junkies) detective story showing how a Canadian mining engineer, used to investigating claims of wonderful finds of oil, turned his attention to Mann's claim of wonderful data hidden in tree rings. A terrific read.This book is more limited, just a collection of quotes about the failure of the Hockey Stick from many different angles. However, it is impressive in the breadth and depth of the criticisms and the wide scientific experience of the authors, ranging from cloud physics to oceanographers to paleontologists to geologists. Although I follow the climate debate pretty closely, I was stunned to find such a large number of well-known scientists who had criticized the Hockey Stick (and/or its creator) in such explicit ways. But now I think I understand why nobody was willing to support Mann in his suit by submitting a friend of the court brief.The book is easy to read, well edited so that the remarks of the scientists are kept on topic. Very useful as a reference book for one side in the climate debate. Also good for those on the fence and for those who just love watching a good fight.

Steyn's book is about what OTHER PEOPLE said about Mann and his hockey stick.Other negative comments aside, whether Steyn is Liberal or Conservative or Communist or Druid or Jewish or Christian has little to no bearing on the content of the book.People should know what other scientists say about Mann's work, since prior to this they've probably been overwhelmed with only the other side of the issue. This is not an attack, it's a balance.

If you read the history of the various Popes in the Vatican, a rational person comes away with the sense that the Popes are not God-inspired men-of-God: They are just Men, acting as Men have acted forever.Steyn's book describes the scenes and stages and backdrops and drama of Michael "Mankind's Climate Goalie and Self-Declared Nobel Prize-Winner" Mann. In this narrative, Mann can be seen as the whiny emotionally-deranged teenager that he is. A real scientist certainly doesn't take to a blog or worse, Twitter (the haven of all emotionally deranged teenagers, no matter their real age) in order to defend his results. A real scientist has that nags like facts and evidence and even better, Other Real Scientists, to defend his results. But Mann has none of the above, except for other emotionally deranged teenagers in his profession.Rachel Carson comes from the same cloth, but she only wrote a book of fiction, which turned out to be based on a science experiment done by someone else. When that actual scientist was informed of his experiment's incorrect protocol, he re-ran the experiment, and discovered his error. Michael Mann has done everything in his teenage power to deny that he was wrong.Michael Mann is not a scientist. Newton, Galileo, Einstein would have all bitch-slapped him, as he truly deserves.
